The plum tree in our garden celebrated the exit from lockdown and other Covid restrictions this year by producing a record number of plums.
Having provided my neighbours with plums I realised that I still had far too many left over. I’m still using my plum jam from years gone by so I was at a bit of a loss. I thought about taking them to the local distillery in Mettmenstetten and having Pflüümli made, but they require a minimum of 30 litres of mash: however, my glut was not that glutty.
And so I hit upon the idea of making plum wine. This post will document the results of this, my first foray into wine making.
